Sitting Lady Sculpt in Plasticine: Part 2

After working on this on and off for a while I think I’ve come to the end of this piece. I’ve learnt a lot especially about what tools I like to work with and have improved my knowledge of ┬áthe human form. But there are some things that just aren’t working out.

Plasticine is cheap and easy to shape and a good starting point for sculpting however there are a few issues.

Sitting Lady Sculpt in Plasticine: Part 1

Last year I attended some late night life drawing classes. One of the final classes rather than drawing we used clay to create little sculptures of the subject. I really enjoyed the process and my work turned out better than I expected.

This year I haven’t had the time to attend classes again but I still really want to draw from “life”. I thought what’s the next best thing? Drawing from a small sculpture, but first I need one. So begun the my journey in to sculpting.
